Publication Project "The Wind Music Companion": Call for papers

From Golden Pages for Musicologists

The International Society for Research and Promotion of Wind Music (IGEB) is pleased to invite submissions of proposals for its publication project The Wind Music Companion.

The Wind Music Companion, written by leading experts, will be an edition in two volumes. It will offer accessible studies about historical, instrumental, ethnological, sociological and pedagogical topics. Professors, musicologists, students, conductors and amateurs have noticed that many catalogues, books and articles in English and German cover many areas (composers, repertoire, instruments, country and region, period, instrumentation, specific band bands, etc.) but a general publication on scientific research about wind music is missing. Sometimes incomplete and even several decades old. The Wind Music Companion is not intended to replace reference books but this publication updates and completes the existing information. The planned volumes will cover the various aspects of wind music and introduce new social, aesthetical and pedagogical aspects. The volumes will be written in English, containing approx. 450 pages with photos, illustrations, tables and musical examples.
