REACT symposium
REFLECTIVE AND CRITICAL APPROACHES TO TEACHING AND LEARNING OF MUSIC PERFORMANCE

The REACT Symposium aims to bridge the gap between artistic production and academic research, thus creating opportunities to combine artists’, educators’ and researchers’ knowledge, featuring thematic conferences, round table discussions, papers, lecture recitals, workshops, pedagogical demonstrations. The REACT Symposium will create a forum for debating the activities implemented within the scope of the project, providing a space for the broader community to discuss current developments in music performance teaching and learning and to present related artistic research projects.
CALL FOR PAPERS
As part of the REACT project, Piteå School of Music at the Luleå University of Technology announces a symposium dedicated to the development of reflective and critical approaches to the teaching and learning of music performance in Higher Music Education (HME). We welcome presentations that advocate change with regard to diversity, equity and inclusivity, with a particular interest in new formats and concepts, such as the potential of artistic research to innovate in HME; dialogic teaching models; as well as pedagogical strategies in tandem with the music industries.
The deadline for abstracts is April 30th 2022.
